A ride in photos

Ok so the pictures are all out of order but this our ride on Saturday. Bodhi jumped his first verticals with me. I obviously need to take a jumping lesson now. I haven't taken one in about 10 years so please mind my position! He got his flying lead change consistantly and I even got him to change to the left going to the right. So counter canter here we come! He is becoming very brave over fences. What do you guys think? How do you like his hair cut?

  1. He looks adorable! The trace clip is very cute and his tail is beautiful (so jealous, Tucker has a puny tail)! Looks like Bodhi likes to jump so I'd definitely take a lesson or two so you guys can play around with it. That's great about his changes, sounds like he is very well balanced. Great pics!

  2. Thanks Marissa, i know i am getting down to much and shifting too forward knocking the poor little guy on his forehand. I bet he will be even better when I fix my position. Seems to always be the case.

  3. You guys look like you're having fun! It's great that he's enthusiastic about it, and that's very good work on the changes, too! I'm certainly not going to say anything about your position - I haven't had a lesson in years!

  4. Hi - I just found your blog recently...

Great pics - you guys look like you are having fun! Nice clip - I'm jealous of his tail, my guy has the worst scraggly appy tail.

  5. Hi Laura thanks for stopping in! He does have a nice tail, and would have a nice mane if he would stop itching it all out! Appy tails are cute! We have an appy and an appy/perch at the farm I board at

  6. Bodhi is adorable. You two look like you're having lots of fun. I'm not commenting on positions either since I haven't really jumped in a few years. His clip looks great and makes him even cuter if that's possible.

  7. I am jealous of your horses tail! It's beautiful! I just read your post on the mugwump chronicals and then had to stop by here. I loved the story of your "first love"

  9. Heh, I won't say I'm jealous of your pony's tail. Not when Mitch's looks just like that.

Hooray for jumping. I haven't jumped in eons (I miss you so, Flair!)

Love the trace clip. He's a two-tone pony for sure! Funny in'it how Haflingers have such startling contrast between their winter coats and their clipped coats.

Bodhi looks so much like Mitch it's uncanny.
